About me

One of my earliest memories is painting at an easel in pre-school. At that time, I declared myself an artist. As a fourth generation artist dating back to my great-grandfather, I was encouraged to continue my studies in art. I earned my BFA in graphic design. After college, I became an Art Director and my life seemed perfect - almost too perfect. Seven weeks after my daughter was born, my husband was killed in a tragic car crash. After he died, I didn't return to the corporate art world.
Now, I create art that makes me happy. I paint large and small. Also, I "art journal" which involves creating, binding, and filling books with drawings, words, and painted papers. More recently, I've incorporated weaving into my realm. I set no boundaries with mediums: I work with paint, fiber, ink, wood and much more.
I have found joy in sharing my passion for art with others. I enjoy teaching weekly classes and special events to both adults and children in drawing, printmaking, art journaling, and collage. One of my favorite things is to teach drawing to a person who says, "I can't draw!" Yes, you can! You just haven't been in my class!
